San Antonio · Est. 2019
Every batch is handcrafted in small quantities using organic milk, farm-fresh eggs, and locally sourced ingredients. The result is ice cream with depth, texture, and a purity you can taste from the first spoon.
The Menu
Our menu changes with the seasons. Each flavor is developed in-house, tested over multiple batches, and only added when it meets our standard.
Real vanilla beans, organic heavy cream, and a touch of vanilla-infused egg yolk. Our most-requested flavor.
Venezuelan cacao, slow-churned for a dense, fudgy texture that melts slowly on the palate.
Japanese-grade matcha whisked into a sweetened cream base. Earthy, bright, and quietly complex.
Fresh berries from local farms, macerated in berry juice and folded into a light cream base.
Raw Texas wildflower honey infused with culinary lavender. Floral without being perfumey.
Double-shot espresso base with mascarpone swirl and a hint of cocoa-dusted amaretto.
Flavors rotate monthly. Ask about today's specials or call ahead to reserve a pint of your favorite.
Our Story
La Maria Heladería Artesanal started as a weekend experiment — a single batch of vanilla, a borrowed custard machine, and a conviction that the ice cream in San Antonio was missing something honest.
Today we're a small team working out of a compact shop in the 78217 area. We make every batch by hand, source our dairy from regional farms, and turn down suppliers who can't tell us where their ingredients come from.
We don't have a franchise model. We don't do mass production. What we do is show up every morning, make the same quality we'd serve our own family, and hope our neighbors notice the difference.
The Process
We meet with local dairy farmers and fruit growers each season to select the best available ingredients. No shortcuts, no substitutes.
Base mixtures are prepared by hand, aged for 24–48 hours, and tasted at every stage until the balance is exact.
Our batch freezer runs slowly, incorporating just enough air to give each scoop a velvety texture without sacrificing density.
Every scoop is weighed, not heaped. We'd rather give you less and be honest than overfill and disappoint.
